Micaiah (pronounced /⁠mɪˈkaɪə⁠/[key][2]; Japanese: ミカヤ Micaiah) is a Branded denizen of the Kingdom of Daein who played a pivotal role in the restoration of the country in the aftermath of its defeat in the Mad King's War. Blessed with the mysterious power of Sacrifice and renowned as the "Silver-Haired Maiden" (Japanese: 銀の髪の乙女 Silver-Haired Maiden), she originated as a peasant fortune-teller and a friend and guardian to Sothe, but after her nation's downfall she and Sothe joined the Dawn Brigade resistance group, fighting to protect the people of Daein from the abuses of the Begnion garrison under Jarod.
