This program is intended for kids in 4th-6th grades. Want to learn coding? Love to design games? This class is for you! This engaging and interactive course will introduce you to the basics of programming through the block-coding platform Scratch. Through developing a series of mini-video games as a class, you'll become equipped with the tools to understand everything from variables to for-loops. At the end of the program, you will develop a game or animation of your liking, putting your newly gained knowledge to use. This class will be held in-person at the Fremont Main Library from July 25-29 and August 1-5, 2022. We will not have class on Friday, July 29. Registered students are expected to attend all nine classes. You will need to bring your own computer to participate in this class. Masks are required inside the library. When you register, please ensure that you are able to attend the first class on July 25th at 4:00pm. If you are registered and do not show up for the first class, your seat will be offered to the next student on the waiting list.
