HI THERE, I AM

Stowers

Hi, My name is Isaiah Stowers. I am a long-distance Runner who has completed over 82 running events since 2019. 5K, 10k, half marathon, full marathons… You name it, but from that passion spurred a desire to become a race Director for various runs in our area.

I host four major runs throughout the year: the first of which is the High Five For Teachers 5K. In addition of running and hosting events, I am a full-time science and STEM teacher for Lodi Unified School District. I created this run to give teachers and students everywhere an opportunity to pay homage to the ones that have come before us and the ones that are in our classrooms right now. This run usually takes place around teacher appreciation week, but depending on the holidays may fall in the middle of May.

The next run, I am a part of is the brain health to be stroke 5K. I lost my father, a Vietnam, veteran, two a stroke and brain related illnesses. Every year, I partner up with Healings In Motion to bring together a 5K that raises awareness for Strokes in the northern California area. This event takes place in August.

The next run, and widely considered the most popular run, is the Taco The Town 10k! Working with several food trucks and breweries in the area, we bring together a run that has a post race festival like none other… FREE TACOS! You can find this During Mexican heritage month at the beginning of September near Labor Day.

Tan the year, we have the Santa Dash 5K and 10 K. This best of run has all the participants dress up like Santa Claus, or other holiday caricatures, put on a Santa hat, and run! With the biggest post race festival, we have, this one includes fake snow, Santa races, hot cocoa, a plethora of food, music, performances, and so much more!

Lastly, I am the CEO and president of a nonprofit founded called the Midsole Project. With this, we aim to mitigate the issue of young runners who do not have the means to participate in some of our events and events across Northern California. Our aim is this.

1. Educate new runners on the correct form and foot placement to avoid injury and become a better runner.
2. The Midsole is the part of the foot that is responsible for stability and also how you place your foot with each step forward.. This analogy is what we used to instill the next generation with the importance of putting your best foot forward“ and becoming better humans.
3. With each of our own, we raise funds to donate shoes to those in need. Every person should be able to run in a pair of shoes that allows them to succeed.
