This topic kind of branched out from my previous post but why do all modern anime and some older ones put so much detail into their eyes? Does putting all that effort and detail into their eyes alone take a chunk out of their budget? What was wrong with old eyes like DBZ's and Luffy's from One Piece? They look fine if not better and simpler to me.
