Local high school students Poojita Chinmay and her cousin Anuhya Tadepalli volunteered at a memory care facility one day and realized they wanted to help residents find activities to not only past the time but also help them keep their minds active. After some brainstorming, Chinmay and Tadepalli decided that chess, a game that they played since they were kids, was the best thing for seniors. From there, they started Chess for a Cause.
